PUSHING THE ENVELOPE

“In most loudspeakers, bass performance is limited by physics—the cone’s movement and the voice coil’s length set the maximum dB output. To increase air movement and volume, you need more cone area.

Doubling the cone area adds three more dBs or halves the cone excursion, making the speaker’s performance more effortless. The C225 driver, with its 45mm magnetic gap, is powerful on its own.

However, by using eight drivers, the cone excursion is reduced by a factor of eight, delivering a powerful auditory experience with minimal effort”.

POWER MEETS PRECISION

Just like a powerful car on a racetrack or a ballerina’s leap, true power requires finesse. Any large loudspeaker can play loud, but it takes control to reveal the subtle details within the sound.

The Moya M1 embodies this balance, delivering rock concert levels of sound with precision. Whether it's the depth of an organ symphony or the bass of a 90s house anthem, the Moya M1 brings every note to life with clarity and power.

WHEN EIGHT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH

At first glance, the Moya M1’s eight bass drivers stand out. But why so many? It’s about efficiency and power. With four times the driver complement of our Giya G1 Spirit model, the Moya achieves an extra 6dB of efficiency, extending low frequencies below 20Hz.

Multiple drivers also prevent power compression and distortion. As voice coils heat up, efficiency drops, leading to a dull sound. The Moya M1’s eight 100mm voice coils maintain clarity and power, outperforming even the largest drivers.

MASTERING THE SEQUENCE

Using computer-aided network analysis and optimisation, in conjunction with ideally-behaved drivers, a seamless five-way dividing network was perfectly achievable.

Now the delicate balance of highs, lows and mids was perfectly harmonised – for an optimal experience that will reveal new details from your record collection at every listening session.

TWEETERS - MINING MATERIAL GAINS

Since the 1990s, exotic tweeter dome materials have emerged in audio. Vivid Audio opted for a blend of carbon fiber and aluminum in a catenary shape, achieving a response that rivals beryllium and surpasses diamond tweeters.

Our reinforced aluminum dome has a key advantage: lower mass. Unlike diamond, which requires a thick layer and is three times denser, our design is 10dB more efficient. This efficiency is crucial to the effortless sound reproduction Vivid Audio is known for.

MID RANGE - A COMMANDING PERFORMANCE

The C100SCu mid-driver, essential for capturing the nuances of soprano vocals and violin strings, now sits at the heart of the Moya M1 baffle.

Enhanced with high-energy magnet material and a high-purity copper shield, it delivers extended highs with significantly reduced distortion. The addition of three carbon fiber rings further increases break-up frequencies, ensuring clarity even at the uppermost range of a soprano’s top C6.

BASS DRIVERS - ROCKING THE FOUNDATIONS

The Moya M1’s bass array is a powerhouse, featuring eight C225-100H drivers in a high-shove configuration, each handling 800W. The C225’s radially polarised magnet structure, reinforced by a 11kg steel core, supports a durable glass-reinforced former and edge-wound copper-ribbon voice coil, allowing for extreme power handling.

Drivers are arranged in horizontally-opposed pairs, eliminating reaction forces without the need for a heavy enclosure. The cabinet’s foam-cored composite sandwich and extensive bracing ensure stiffness, with low-end precision enhanced by reaction-cancelling ports and exponential absorbers.
